Parcelled and ready for posting
Just finished printing and parcelling the signed, mounted prints for my June freebie prize draw winners. They'll be in the post tomorrow.
How do you package your prints for shipping? I am looking for flat boxes with very little luck. Do you send them matted, or simply as prints? Thank you.
Hi Sandy - my trade secret is... I cut up old cardboard boxes so I end up with one piece, as wide (plus a little overlap) as the matted, bagged print and twice as long. Fold it over, seal with parcel tape.
Why this approach?
A) I'm Scottish B) It keeps the ol' carbon footprint down
Priority for me is: reuse, recycle and only buy if I have to ;)
@imac: I don't do anything special, the law is that the image is your copyright as soon as you produce it.
You can go to the trouble of registering with various services but I don't see the point yet. If my images were hugely in demand, attracting vast sums of cash I might. Some of those services will trawl the web looking for copies and then do the chasing for you - but you have to pay for the service.
Hi Mark, I really was asking how do you mark(lol) your photos, is it printed or a water mark on yours??.Also do you know how to water mark photos. Got my ear and eye on our door.:)
@imac: ah, gotcha now. The watermark on the images on my main site is generated as part of the process of generating the galleries. For this I use a product called Arles Image Web Page Creator. Not much use to people who just do blogs, though. There must be a plug-in for photoshop, surely.
Hi Mark, Arrived home at 2.15 from work today (Tuesday) and found a package for meeeee. Its a fantastic Photo Mark, many many thanks, its being framed on Friday.
Thank you for the packaging tip; I'm a little Scotch myself:). I also teach children about photography and how they can make a difference through this art form, which includes ecology lessons. Perfect.
