Approached by a magazine
So I got a message via my flickr gallery from someone at Dartmoor Life Magazine. They liked one of my images there, one of a Dartmoor Pony grazing next to gorse, and wanted to use it on their web site. They didn't have a budget for it so I agreed, on the condition that it was credited to me. And they did.
So, do you think I should have held out for payment or is it a case of any publicity is good publicity? I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.
comments / critique / feedback / tweets / buzzes always welcome :)

Its probably a case of swings and roundabouts and I guess each case has to be judged on its merits. I generally am happy for people to use my images, although they are nowhere near as high quality as yours are. As long as I am credited I am happy. My work has appeared in a few publications for free including bus timetables and a few websites. I have also sold a few to publications which is a bonus.
With images like yours I guess its a good idea to allow a few to be used for free as long as you have the control.
Cheers Graham
Any advertising is good advertising Mark. I did the same thing with an organization that wanted to use one of my images...they asked how much, I said no charge. I received advice from a couple of other photographers before I gave them my answer.
Thanks guys. I thought it made sense, given the circumstances. It also gives me another item for my Bio, which id a good thing :)
@dbg I've seen via buzz how prolific you are with the transport shots - keep up the good work!
Any free publicitity is good, if it costs a free pic, you never know, it might reap rewards.
Thnaks for your thoughts about MIL Mark, time will tell.
Mark if I received your e-mail and I see your blog here
A cordial greeting ...
Abstract texts and reflection.
I agree too: Any advertising is good advertising... :)
Welcome Jose - and thanks for your words :)
@JaviZ - I think I should encourage more of it, then! Any magazines etc listening?
I'm happy for people to use my images.
I agree, too. Any publicity is good publicity; even negative reviews lead to increases in sails.
Thanks for adding your voice to the weight of opinion... It's a shame that photographers no longer get paid by publications for their skills :(
Thanks for your mail
happy weekend Greetings
